Our journey with Borzoi and Whippets
We embarked on our journey with Borzoi in 1990 and later welcomed Whippets into our lives in 2004. Our unique kennel name, Freckashpeng (pronounced: Frec - Kash - Peng), is a cherished blend derived from the names of our very first two Borzoi and our beloved cat. We are proudly located in Winchester, Ontario, just south of Ottawa.
Our philosophy: Family first, show second
At Hounds of Freckashpeng, our dogs are first and foremost cherished members of our family and household. Our "kennel" is our home, where all our dogs live with us; we do not have any outbuildings. Our commitment extends to selectively breeding sound, healthy, and health-tested dogs with exceptional temperaments and pedigrees. We dedicate countless hours to researching the best possible breedings to produce happy, well-socialized puppies that embody their breed standard. We are always available to answer any questions throughout the lifetime of your hound.
Our active lives with our hounds
Our dogs keep us busy and engaged with a variety of activities, including conformation shows, lure coursing, chase ability, and sprinting. Most weekends are spent attending, preparing for, or volunteering at these events, which we absolutely love. We encourage you to contact us with any questions or comments about our dogs or the breeds in general. Visitors are always welcome by appointment.
