The proud heritage of the Borzoi

Originally bred in Russia, the Borzoi was developed for the coursing of hare, fox, and wolves across open terrain. They relied on keen sight rather than scent. To fulfill this purpose, a Borzoi must embody courage, power, and exceptional speed. Special emphasis is placed on sound running structure, a strong neck and jaws, keenness to game, and agility, all combined with proper physical condition.

Achievements and lovable quirks

We are incredibly proud of our Borzoi at the Hounds of Freckashpeng Perm Reg'd. They have achieved considerable success in the show ring, a testament to their adherence to the breed standard and their beautiful presentation. Beyond the ring, our Borzoi absolutely love doing sprints, showcasing their natural athleticism and speed. They are also highly social animals, thriving on interaction and becoming cherished members of our family and household.
